Ms. Anthea, Level 1 with a Fine Art Degree
This marks the beginning of my eighth year of teaching preschool, and the start of my fith year at HHBH Playschool. I am passionate about play based learning and I believe my degree in Fine Art forms the basis of my creative and imaginative approach with children. In addition to my degree I also have a Teaching Second Language Certificate, which helps support English language learners.
My joy is to take time with each child, to know them and support them, in their learning where ever they may be on that journey. It is a delight to be partnered with Ms. Tanya and Ms. Ruthanne and I look forward to all the fun things we have planned for your children this school year.
When I'm not at preschool you can find me in the neighborhood with my husband and 3 adult children. We also have one small dog: you may see us out walking if you live nearby. In my free time I like to cook, read, and walk with friends.
I look forward to getting to know you and learning through play with your children.
Miss Ruthanne, level 3
Hi there, I am Ruthanne! I have worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 30 years. I have worked in daycare, as a kindergarten aide, a dayhome provider (for 21 years), a zoo camp leader and as a preschool teacher. It has been a wonderful journey working with so many beautiful children and families.
I am very passionate about working with young children. I love to really get to know each child and provide them with an environment where they feel safe, cared for and where they can thrive! I am looking forward to working with Ms. Anthea and Ms. Tanya. I believe we make a brilliant team, we are dedicated to making your child’s playschool experience an exceptional one.
When I am not at playschool I can be found close to home in Highwood. I love to work on various crafts and projects, garden, walk our dog Max and visit with family and friends.
Ms. Tanya, Level 1 with a background in Linguistics and ASL
I am honored and excited to be joining the HHBH Play-school team this 2024-2025 school year. This will be my 9 th year working within the Preschool environment.
Through play, children can express creativity, take risks, grow confidence and build resilience; all valuable skills considering learning can sometimes be as uncomfortable as it is fun. I believe in creating connections with each child, so they feel safe to thrive. I want each child to know they are a valued member of our class. It is my hope that each child walks away with a smile on their face and feeling curious about the world.
When I’m not at preschool, you can find me playing sports with my husband, twin girls and dog Ollie the Collie. From frisbee, basketball to soccer and paddle boarding I enjoy being active. When I’m not out on a community field, you will find me playing board games with my friends and family.
